9/6/2023 0 Comments Windows 10 quick assist![]() ![]() I will not mark as an answer either of the two replies received so far. If anyone can shed more light on this I would be happy to mark the reply as an answer. Instructor Quick Assist is an app available in windows 10 that allows users to get assistance from another user. ![]() So, this may indicate that Quick Assist does as well. While IĬouldn't find Microsoft documentation on the security of MSRA, I think the following post confirms that MSRA uses encryption. For versions of Windows that are still in service and had Quick Assist preinstalled, the January update will get the original version of Quick Assist running on your PC again. If it is true, then telling me how MSRA is secured should answer my question. However, we corrected this in the post because Quick Assist wasnt preinstalled on WindLTSB. Hold the Windows Key and the Control (Ctrl) key down, then press Q. I just don't know if that's true because it isn't documented anywhere. The quickest way to start Quick Assist is to use a keyboard shortcut. Note: Quick Assist only works if you are remotely connecting from a Windows 10 computer to. They will have to paste the code into Quick Assist and allow access to their computer. Then copy the code and send it to the other user. So, QuickAssist may just be a simplified version of MSRA. To use Windows Quick Assist, open the app and click Assist another person. So, it seems very simplistic and that's why I question how secure it is. The file size for Quick Assist is only 558 KB on my computer. For example, does it use TLS to encrypt the communication? Is any information sent to Microsoft about the session? I think these are valid questionsĪnd the answers should be documented. For the record, I wouldn't waste everyone's time asking a question that could be answered in an FAQĪlso, saying "It is secure" doesn't answer any of my questions. I'm going to assume there isn't any additional documentation available since neither of you came up with anything else. ![]()
